PRAYER

The National Shrine of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel was founded to encourage and perpetuate devotion to Mary and her scapular under the special title of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

  • Outdoor Stations of the Cross and a Monastic cloister walk encourage pilgrims to spend time in prayer in a special way.

Our many programs promote the spirituality of prayer, silent reflection, meditation and devotion to Mary and the Carmelite saints.

A Mass of Healing can restore strength, stamina and faith when one is struggling with an illness or disability or experiencing emotional or spiritual weakness. A monthly Healing Mass is celebrated on the last Thursday of each month at 7:00pm at the Shrine of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is administered during this Mass.
